Welcome to Elimu Safari, Inc.
"Elimu Safari" is Swahili for "Educational Journey". We are a California based 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, with headquarters in Pleasanton, CA. Our organization believes in children getting high quality education around the world. We focus our efforts in Eastern Africa, bringing educators from around the world to teach, learn and support the efforts of schools in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
Our Mission:
To provide a high quality, sustainable education and technology to students, teachers and the communities lacking assistance due to remote locations or inefficiencies of resources, while establishing a life-long bond between local and international teachers, students and schools.
Our Project Goals:
• Expand the offerings of the educational systems within the local communities throughout Eastern Africa and foster the local capabilities to continue the expansion of skills needed to open doors for students and staff .
• Provide the resources and materials that are needed to effectively and sustainably teach primary through secondary student with a goal to increase the number of rural African students attending Universities.
• Develop and collaborate with local educational leaders to actively train colleagues in effective classroom strategies that extend to all disciplines, utilizing technology to broaden their skills and embrace the capabilities that technology brings.
• Provide exchange opportunities for educators around the world to collaborate with rural African schools by experiencing a positive learning environment and recognizing that everyone has something to bring to the table.
